Before Cosmic was a company, we were a small group building things inside Rec Room and learning as we went. Not every experiment became a finished project, but that time together became the foundation of our studio.
Rec Room was a social platform where people met, played, and built worlds together. Before Cosmic was a company, it was where we spent hours making things and learning as we went. There were unfinished projects, strange experiments, and ideas that went nowhere—but it felt like we were building toward something.
Cabin Cove started with Speedster’s idea and became our first published room as a team. A hangout grew through seasonal updates and community events, including our 2024 July fireworks broadcast. Seeing it featured twice meant a lot. Workshops and sponsored classes followed, and Cosmic became a Featured Creative Club. We weren’t a huge team; we were excited that people cared about what we were making.
Rec Room closed on June 1, 2026. These rooms are no longer playable, but they hold the beginnings of Cosmic: the people we met, the things we learned, and the memories we made together. As we build our first standalone PC game, this is the part of our story we want to keep. Thank you to everyone who was there.
Rec Room was a social platform where people met, played, and created worlds together. Cabin Cove and Edenveil were experiences we built within it. After the platform closed on June 1, 2026, these rooms became an archive of our beginnings, our community, and the work that brought us together.
